Judith Soentgen is Counsellor and heads the Division for Development Cooperation at the Permanent Mission of Germany to the office of the United Nations and the other International Organizations in Geneva. She is a fully qualified lawyer admitted to the bar in Germany. Prior to joining the Permanent Mission in August 2018, she worked for the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development as Senior Legal and Policy Officer, for the World Intellectual Property Organization as Associate Legal Officer and practised competition and state aid law, being part of Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer’s antitrust team in Brussels. In addition to her German law degree, she holds an LL.M. in European Legal Studies focusing on IP law and competition law from the College of Europe in Bruges.
