Call for Short term Consultancy Services
Ministry of Foreign Affairs and External Trade is implementing EIF programme in Solomon Islands. EIF is a multi-donor programme, which supports LDCs to be more active players in the global trading system by helping them tackle supply-side constraints to trade. A project entitled ‘Solomon Islands Tourism for Inclusive Development (SI-TIDE)’ is recently approved by the EIF Board. The SI-TIDE project is designed to contribute achieving overall goal of SIG’s National Development Strategy (2011-20) – ‘build better lives for Solomon Islanders through targeted interventions’. To do so, the project will systematically intervene in the areas of policy/legislations related to tourism sector; promote Solomon Islands as a distinct visitor’s destination in the Pacific Region and strengthen the linkages of tourism sector with the auxiliary sectors like agriculture and handicraft in a way that help create additional livelihood opportunities for the people.
The EIF-NIU, responsible for implementation of the project, is looking for suitable national consultants for following tasks:
- National Consultant for review of the current Tourism Department Structure and Formulation of a new department structure.
- National Consultant for Tourism Policy Review and Updates.
- National Consultant for Tourism Legislation and Regulation.
- National IT Consultant to develop e-commerce opportunity to sell handicraft online.
- National Consultant to prepare and display handicraft product profiles - includes product profile in promotional materials for tourism.
- National Consultant on linkages and leakage in tourism industry.
