Peter Donelan
Coordinator
Peter is the lead coordinator for 14 countries in the EIF Least Developed Country (LDC) portfolio across Sub-Saharan Africa and the South Pacific, and he currently heads up the EIF's Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) efforts. He has extensive experience in results-based management, project development and MEL. With a career spanning nearly two decades, Peter has lived and worked in multiple LDCs since 2006, honing his skills in the Making Markets Work approach, the nexus between trade and climate change, sustainable agribusiness, cross-border trade, and responsible tourism backward linkages.
Peter’s past experience includes serving as Coordinator for the UNCTAD-led UN Trade Cluster in Tanzania, as well as holding key roles within UNDP country offices—Private Sector Development Programme Specialist in Sierra Leone and Trade Specialist in Tanzania. He has also provided consultancy services for the EIF, supporting project development and trade capacity-building efforts in The Gambia, Liberia, Mali, Rwanda, Sierra Leone and Tanzania. Peter holds a Master’s Degree in International Relations from Dublin City University, Ireland.
