The session will provide lessons learnt, highlight best practices, demonstrate the value of partnership and the importance of reactiveness for coordinated actions between Governments, private sector, and development partners. Targeted and timely recovery plans and actions implemented by trade ministries has helped MSMEs to cope with the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. Onboarding of MSMEs, support to innovation, grants targeted to priority groups (women, youth, rural entrepreneurs) supported by Australia, EIF and UNDP have made the transition from offline to online faster, more inclusive and sustainable, accelerating digital transformation and transition as well as improving e-readiness. This benefited from the robust legal and regulatory environment spearheaded by the Ministry of Commerce (e-commerce law, e-commerce strategy, e-commerce sub-decrees).
