EIF Post-2015: A partnership roadmap for concrete results delivery

An EIF Ministerial Breakfast will be held in the margins of the ninth WTO Ministerial Meeting.

The meeting will allow for a dialogue among Ministers, EIF Partners, the WTO Secretariat and Development Partners on the progress in implementation of the EIF programme and focus on a forward looking plan of action in the context of the post-2015 development agenda.

It will broadly focus on three issues:

• EIF beyond 2015: Positioning the EIF in the context of the post-2015 development agenda and the implementation of the Istanbul Programme of Action for LDCs. This should be linked to the EIF evaluation in 2014, which will allow EIF Partners to decide the future and the shape of the programme after the end of the current phase (end 2015).

• Leveraging EIF global and national partnerships to support delivery of results: Partner Agencies recently recommitted to deepen their engagement and effectiveness to ensure that the EIF supports LDCs to achieve sustainable development through trade. The consolidation of existing and future partnership will be a key to ensuring the attainment of results with impacts on the ground. In this regard, EIF Partner Agencies will exchange with the LDCs at the political level on how this support can be facilitated in a sustainable manner.

• Immediate and concrete support to LDCs post Bali outcome: Supporting the integration of LDCs into the global markets through an effective response to technical assistance needs to maximize their participation and trade benefits.
